The High Commission of the Republic of Rwanda in Ghana with jurisdiction in Liberia in partnership with UN Liberia hosts the 30th commemoration program of the 1994 GENOCIDE against the Tutsi in Rwanda

This event took place at the Ministerial Complex, 540 Congo Town, Paynesville where the government, Second Lady of the Republic of Liberia, members of the diplomatic corps, students and the general public were gathered today to grace the occasion.
During the program the United Nations Liberia Resident Coordinator Madame Christine Umutoni emphasized that “Africans should do away with hatred, division and focus on the of prosperity for the lives of children, our nations at large. “
She expressed her deep believing feeling in the youths that they can uphold the peace of the future and that can only be done when they are positively nurtured and supported, care for and empowered, transformed and create a sincere room for them and stand as one.
Madame Umutoni calls on all young folks including students to do away with violence, hatred and divisiveness in their various schools and preach the message of peace, together and prosperity that will positively and successfully define the future.
The UN Liberia Resident Coordinator also expressed the organization's commitment to supporting Liberia and the region in fostering a culture of peace, respect for human rights, and conflict resolution.
In remarks by the Rwandan High Commissioner to Ghana, with jurisdiction in Liberia, she emphasized the importance of remembering the genocide and learning from the past to prevent such atrocities from happening again. She also highlighted the progress Rwanda has made in the years since the genocide, rebuilding the country and promoting reconciliation.
The commemoration served as a somber reminder of the devastating consequences of hatred and the need for continued efforts to promote unity and prevent such tragedies.
The event was a meaningful display of solidarity between Rwanda, Liberia, and the international community in honoring the victims of the 1994 genocide and reaffirming the collective determination to never again allow such heinous acts to occur.
